Create Play Helpers

Play Helpers are a way to improve your play experience by adding personalized features to the play mode.

They allow you to configure setup steps, round steps, and/or a score sheet for any game.

You can also use any of the existing Play Helpers created by other users, or extend them to fit your needs.

Where to Start

Go to your desired game page and click on the triple-dot icon at the top right of the screen. There you will find the "Play Helpers" option.

From there, you can create a new Play Helper by clicking on the "Create New Helper" button. This will open a form where you can configure the setup steps, play steps, and score sheet for the game.

Setup Steps

Setup steps are the steps you need to follow to set up the game before starting to play. They can include things like preparing the game components, shuffling the cards, or setting up the board.

When you use a Play Helper with setup steps, you will be given a checklist of the steps you need to follow. You can mark each step as done by clicking on the checkbox next to it.

Round Steps

Round steps are the steps you need to follow during the game round. They can include things like taking turns, drawing cards, or resolving actions.

When you use a Play Helper with round steps, you will be given a list of the steps you need to follow. You can mark each step as done by clicking on the checkbox next to it.

You can also advance rounds by clicking on the "Next Round" button, which will reset the round steps as well.

Score Sheet

The score sheet is where you can add up each player's scores for each scoring section in the game, if applicable. For example, you can add scores for each player's points, resources, or achievements.

When using the score sheet, Ludoya will display a table with a column for each player and a row for each scoring section. We recommend each section's name to be as short as possible, so that the table doesn't become too wide for smaller screens.

Each participant can add their score for each section by clicking on the cell in the table. The total score for each player will be calculated automatically, as well as the winner(s) of the game. Both can be overridden manually if needed.
